What is the Oak Tree Application
Oak Tree is a web application provided by the Acorn Scholarship Fund. The Fund provides scholarships to Associates of the Cypress of Raleigh Club. Oak Tree support the process of applying for scholarship and individual grants and approving these applications. Users access Oak Tree using their web browsers.
Users Roles
Oak Tree support three user roles:
Associates. Associates are employees of the Cypress of Raleigh Club who seek educational support
Chairs. Chairs are the chair persons of the scholarship committee. Chairs approve applications for scholarships and assign mentors to associates.
Mentor. Mentors have associates assigned to them. They work with Associates to complete the application process and advise Associates on their educational plans.
Forms Supported
Associates apply for scholarships by completing forms in Oak Tree. The application supports five forms:
Associate Scholarship Application. Associates applying the for the first time complete this form listing the department where they work, the educational program they plan to attend, the reason for selecting their program, and a brief description of their career goals.
Associate Scholarship Payment Form. Once Associates are approved for a scholarship, and they have received invoices for the tuition and fees, they submit this form to have a check for the tuition to be sent to theirs schools.
Dependent Scholarship Application. Associates who wish to apply for scholarships for a child or other dependent use this form. It is similar to the Associate Scholarship Application, but includes information about the dependent.
Dependent Scholarship Payment Form. Similar to the Associate Scholarship Payment Form, this form is used to have the tuition payment sent to the schools.
Alerts
When certain events occur in Oak Tree, the system sends alerts to the users involved. The system provides a list of alerts. It also sends an email for each alert with the same texts as the text in the alert.
